Responsibilities

This is a remote position.

The Director, Strategic Sourcing Cardiovascular, oversees a national spend of approximately $780M. The role requires a strong GPO background, defining and implementing strategies to optimize total cost of ownership, including product sourcing, standardization, and vendor management. The leader manages a category team of managers with expertise in Cardiovascular products and market dynamics, interfacing with clinical and leadership stakeholders, as well as external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team aligned with organizational goals, ensuring delivery of supply value improvements while maintaining quality, safety, and satisfaction.
• Maintain sourcing calendars, evaluate contract categories, understand spend variations, and identify value improvement opportunities.
• Develop and execute strategic plans addressing clinical, financial, and strategic goals, considering local challenges and national strategies.
• Facilitate collaboration between supply chain, clinicians, and other stakeholders for clinically driven sourcing decisions.
• Work with contracting, analytics, purchasing, technology, and operations teams to ensure timely sourcing initiatives and support conversions.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of Cardiovascular suppliers and products, evaluating new products from multiple perspectives.
• Attract, develop, and retain talent, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
• Synthesize complex service line attributes into strategic, multi-year plans understandable by clinicians and non-clinicians.
• Prepare formal position papers for executive and board approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Clinical, or Business/Healthcare Administration; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years in a GPO, sourcing, or contracting role within a similar healthcare organization.
• 15+ years of leadership experience in strategic sourcing, vendor relations, and analysis.
• 5+ years of facilitating clinician and stakeholder collaboration on strategic initiatives.
• Strong negotiation skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.

Pay Range

$75.64 - $109.67 per hour.
