Job summary

Union Health in Terre Haute, IN, seeks a System Director-Acute Care to lead inpatient pharmacy operations and 340B oversight across Union Hospital facilities. You will oversee staffing, budgeting, compliance, and collaboration with clinical teams to drive safe, effective medication use.

The role requires Indiana licensure, 3–5 years inpatient experience, and leadership capabilities; a Pharm.D. or Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. (preferred).
• Licensed pharmacist in the State of Indiana.
• Masters degree (MHA, MBA, MPH) preferred.
• 3-5 years of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of pharmacy leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in drug acquisition, distribution, contracting and 340B preferred.
• Excellent grasp of standard written and verbal English.
• Flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily staffing needs of inpatient pharmacies including scheduling, payroll, licenses, hiring, evaluations, and discipline.
• 340B management and oversight: adherence to purchasing, compliance reporting, data submission, and fiscal impact monitoring.
• Develop and implement procedures to maximize efficiency of pharmacy operations and ensure standards and outcomes.
• Ensure quality, patient safety, and appropriateness of services through ongoing evaluation of inpatient pharmacy services.
• Manage purchasing and inventory in inpatient pharmacy areas including contracts, bids, and adequate stock.
• Delegate and assign staff, promote cooperation, and align with departmental goals and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with nursing, providers, administration, and other departments to optimise patient care and medication management.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee to optimise formularies and cost-effective prescribing.
