Job summary

Amazon is hiring a senior engineering leader to mentor software and controls teams, shape the technical roadmap, and oversee the full lifecycle from requirements to deployment. You will drive best practices, collaborate with product and design partners, and ensure successful feature delivery across complex automation systems.

The role requires extensive experience with PLC/IEC 61131-3, industrial protocols, and safety standards, with leadership across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of managing system or software development teams experience
  • Experience in agile software development methodology
  • Experience coordinating between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent engineering science
  • 5+ years of control system working experience in PLC and Soft PLC-based controls design, development, implementation and support
  • 5+ years machine control code development experience in IEC 61131-3 languages including structured text and/or ladder-logic
  • Experience in industrial fieldbus and protocols: Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, ProfiNET, TCP/IP, MQTT, OPC-UA
  • Experience with industrial automation safety design and programming per IEC 61508 or ISO 13849

Basic Qualifications


  • 3+ years of managing system or software development teams experience

  • Experience with HMI design and development
