Refactor Games is a AAA sports video game studio . We are developing the next generation of professional football (soccer) video games using Unreal Engine 5 .

We are looking for a System Designer to build compelling progression and economy systems for our football game with a Free-to-Play structure. You will design the systems that drive player retention, engagement, and monetization , balancing them against the needs of competitive integrity and fair play.

Experience:

• 3+ years developing games for console and/or PC, ideally sports or competitive multiplayer.
• At least 1 shipped high-quality football game or a similar sports game.

Responsibilities:

• Balance systems for competitive fairness while driving monetization.
• Work with data teams to analyze engagement and iterate on systems.
• Ensure all systems support the core football experience, not detract from it.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience designing systems in live games, including at least one free to play (F2P) game.
• Deep understanding of player motivation and engagement loops .
• Experience tuning live economies and reward systems.
• Familiarity with competitive sports games and their communities.

Pluses:

• Experience designing progression and economies in football or sports games.
• Experience balancing monetization with player goodwill in competitive games.
