Job summary

Bosch Mobility Aftermarket in Owatonna, MN is seeking an engineer for system-level design of ACS products, defining electro-mechanical interfaces among software, hardware, and mechanics. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver on-time, on-spec, and on-budget.

Requires a four-year engineering degree (BSEE preferred) and 3+ years of related experience; proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) and LabVIEW is a plus. Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related experience preferred.
• Proven design skills; CAD (SolidWorks) and LabVIEW helpful.
• Experience with cross-functional/global teams desirable.
• Experience with product certifications (UL) preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Conceptualize and document system level architecture design of the AC service products.
• Coordinate testing and documentation required to achieve and maintain product certifications (UL, CE, etc.).
• Create test plans and reports to validate design concepts.
• Troubleshoot problems to assist with manufacturing or reduce warranty costs.
• Team leadership - lead the project team to be creative, accurate, detailed, and professional.
• Perform design analysis and FMEA‘s on system designs to assure form, fit, function, and safety.
• Represent the Design Engineering Team with professionalism and integrity when communicating with the Customer, Cross Functional Teams and the entire organization.
• Takes full responsibility for providing the customer (internal and external) with service and products (documentation, prototypes, etc.) that exceed customer’s expectations.

Job Description

This position is responsible for the system level design of the ACS (Air-Conditioning Service) products. This will include the high level design documentation for electro-mechanical systems and components, including interactions between the software, hardware, and mechanical components, such as motors, sensors, switches, and controls. The candidate will work closely with a cross functional team to deliver products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. To be successful, the candidate must be innovative, creative, detail oriented, comfortable working from a vision, and comfortable working in a fast-pace environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• Create test plans and reports to validate design concepts.

• Proficiency in PC skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc), CAD experience (Solidworks) preferred, Labview preferred.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment. Experience working with global/international teams also highly desirable.
• Previous experience with product certifications (UL) preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills with solid documentation skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects keeping accurate documentation and records
• Ability to work well with challenging individuals and customers

Additional Information

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $99,900 - $116,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
