Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a System Debug Engineer to diagnose server system failures, isolate components, and collaborate with RD, System teams, and customer support to improve product quality in early DVT/PVT stages.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering, strong Linux/Windows experience, lab and debug skills with test equipment, and soldering ability. Knowledge of Intel/AMD architectures is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Proficient with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Lab and debug skills with test equipment like DMM/oscilloscopes; soldering ability.
• Strong problem-solving capability essential.
• Familiarity with Intel ITP/DCI and CPU/Chipset architectures a plus; AMD experience a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose root causes of server system failures and isolate faulty components.
• Coordinate with RD, System teams and customer support to improve product quality in early stages.
• Develop and publish test reports; communicate findings to the team.
• Apply software-based testing techniques to analyze system failure data efficiently.
• Support knowledge transfer from PVT to MP stages for production teams.

Job Summary:

Supermicro islooking for a System Debug Engineer to support customer and other internal departments for solving server system issues. In this role, you will work with other departments to provide solutions for the issues and product quality improvement in early DVT/PVT stage. The ideal candidate should be familiar with PCBA debugging.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose the root cause of server system failures and isolate the components/failure nodes
• Interface with RD, System teams, and customer support to improve Supermicro products quality in early DVT/PVT stage
• Develop and publish test reports and communicate findings to other team members
• Using software to improve testing techniques / procedures for analyzing system failure data efficiently

Support product technology know-how & troubleshooting skills transfer to Production from PVT to MP stage

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with minimum 3 years of working experience preferred
• Proficient in Linux and Windows OS
• Lab and debug skills are required, including experience working with and analyzing output from test equipment such as digital multi-meter and oscilloscopes, along with soldering and debugging skills
• Strong problem-solving capability
• Familiar with Intel ITP/DCI and Intel CPUs & Chipset architecture or AMD CPU/GPU & Chipset architecture is a plus

Salary Range

$90,000 - $125,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
