Job summary

Supermicro is currently seeking a System Validation Engineer to collaborate with the Hardware Designing team to validate in-house servers and workstation platforms, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability and reliability across validation projects.

The role involves testing across operating systems (Linux/Windows), reporting defects, and coordinating with engineering and product teams to understand production use and advanced functionality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE or similar.
• Familiar with server and computer architecture.
• Basic knowledge of networking/TCP/IP and Linux operating system.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform motherboard and server system validation testing.
• Conduct functional and compatibility testing on Linux and Windows.
• Perform motherboard and hardware functional validation testing.
• Perform server configuration and system performance testing.
• Report hardware and software QA issues into bug tracking systems.
• Duplicate customers motherboard issue if needed.
• Collaborate with customers and product management to understand production use and advanced functionality requirements.

Job Summary:

Supermicro Computer is currently looking for talented System Validation Engineer to partner with Hardware Designing team to validate in-house servers and workstation platforms, troubleshoot and detect any problem of current validation project. The candidate will be responsible to provide technical specifications, to test configurations to verify systems' stability and reliability. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with both internal engineering and product team on various projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform motherboard and server system application validation testing
• Conduct functional and compatibility testing on various operating systems such as Linux and Windows
• Perform motherboard and hardware functional validation testing
• Perform server configuration and system performance testing
• Report hardware and software quality assurance issues into bug tracking systems
• Duplicate customers motherboard issue if needed
• Work with customers and product management to understand production use of the product and understand advanced functionality requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in CS, CE, EE or similar
• Familiar with server and computer architecture
• Basic knowledge of networking/TCPIP and Linux operation system
• Strong communication skill in both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-4+ years of working experience in system or component testing
• Familiar with HPC, data center, networking architecture, system mechanics, etc.
• Expert technical knowledge of designing and implementing Server system
• Benchmarking experience

Salary Range

$95,000 - $113,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
