Job summary

Supermicro is looking for a System Debug Engineer to support server system issue resolution across internal teams and customers. The role focuses on early DVT/PVT stages and PCBA debugging.

You will develop test reports, analyze data from meters and scopes, and help transfer knowledge to Production. Strong problem-solving and hardware debugging skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Proficient in Linux and Windows OS.
  • Lab and debug skills including use of test equipment.
  • Familiar with CPU/Chipset architectures (Intel/AMD) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving capability.

  • Diagnose root causes of server system failures and isolate components.
  • Interface with RD, System teams, and customer support to improve product quality.
  • Develop and publish test reports and communicate findings.
  • Use software to improve testing techniques and analyze failure data.
  • Support knowledge transfer of troubleshooting skills to Production from PVT to MP.

Job Summary

Supermicro is looking for a System Debug Engineer to support customer and other internal departments for solving server system issues. In this role, you will work with other departments to provide solutions for the issues and product quality improvement in early DVT/PVT stage. The ideal candidate should be familiar with PCBA debugging.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose the root cause of server system failures and isolate the components/failure nodes
  • Interface with RD, System teams, and customer support to improve Supermicro products quality in early DVT/PVT stage
  • Develop and publish test reports and communicate findings to other team members
  • Using software to improve testing techniques / procedures for analyzing system failure data efficiently
  • Support product technology know-how & troubleshooting skills transfer to Production from PVT to MP stage
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with minimum 3 years of working experience preferred
  • Proficient in Linux and Windows OS
  • Lab and debug skills are required, including experience working with and analyzing output from test equipment such as digital multi-meter and oscilloscopes, along with soldering and debugging skills
  • Strong problem-solving capability
  • Familiar with Intel ITP/DCI and Intel CPUs & Chipset architecture or AMD CPU/GPU & Chipset architecture is a plus
Salary Range

$95,000 - $125,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
