Job description

System Chief Compliance Officer
Billings Clinic – Logan Health

Step into a defining leadership opportunity at the forefront of healthcare in Montana and Wyoming. The newly unified Billings Clinic – Logan Health system is seeking a System Chief Compliance Officer (SCCO) to lead with integrity, vision, and deep expertise across one of the region’s most influential healthcare organizations.

This isn’t just a job—it’s a legacy-building opportunity.

Our Mission: Quality, compassionate care for all.

Our Vision: Reimagine health care through connection, service and innovation.

Our Core Values: Be Kind | Trust and Be Trusted | Work Together | Strive for Excellence.

Shape the Future of System Compliance

As SCCO, you will be the principal architect behind the integration of two previously independent compliance departments into a single, unified compliance program. This is a rare and powerful opportunity to design, implement, and lead every aspect of a modern, system-wide compliance structure—bringing together teams, aligning processes, and building a strong foundation of trust and accountability across the enterprise.

You’ll serve as a strategic advisor to the Board of Directors and executive leadership, driving the system’s approach to privacy, regulatory standards, and ethical conduct across nine hospitals, more than 20 regional partnerships, and a workforce of 9,000+ employees and 1,200 providers.

A Role That Requires Proven Excellence

This role demands a seasoned leader with a minimum of 10 years of progressive executive leadership in healthcare compliance and privacy, specifically within a large hospital or hospital system. This level of experience is absolutely essential and directly tied to a candidate’s ability to lead at this scale.

You’ll oversee compliance efforts that impact over 600,000 residents across 40,000 square miles, ensuring both operational excellence and patient trust are upheld at every level.

What You'll Lead

  • Unify and build a comprehensive compliance department, aligning processes, people, and policies into one integrated system.
  • Design and lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of an enterprise-wide compliance program grounded in transparency, accountability, and effectiveness.
  • Advise the system Board and executive leadership with clarity and vision on risk mitigation, education, audits, and legal regulations.
  • Direct investigations, HIPAA oversight, and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to both internal standards and external requirements.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, bringing together diverse teams and empowering them under a shared mission of integrity and excellence.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or related field required (Master’s or JD strongly preferred).
  • CHPS (Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security) or CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) certification required.
  • 10+ years of executive-level leadership in healthcare compliance and privacy within a large hospital or healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives, implement system-wide frameworks, and build strong, unified teams.
  • Skilled in navigating complex regulatory environments and communicating effectively with executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills—capable of uniting teams and leading change with clarity and purpose.

Live Where You Lead

This position may be based in either Billings, Montana or Kalispell, Montana—two beautiful communities offering unmatched access to nature, vibrant culture, and professional fulfillment.

  • Billings is Montana’s largest city with urban conveniences, a welcoming community, and quick access to outdoor adventure.
  • Kalispell, nestled in the Flathead Valley, is your gateway to Glacier National Park and offers lakes, trails, and mountains just minutes from your door.

Why Billings Clinic – Logan Health?

Together, these two leading organizations have formed one powerful system. As our System Chief Compliance Officer, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping what comes next.

If you’re ready to lead at scale, build something extraordinary from the ground up, and bring your years of experience to a health system that’s transforming care delivery across Montana—this is your moment.

Apply today and help lead the future of healthcare compliance.
