Position Objective
This position serves as a senior analyst who consistently thinks strategically across systems, projects and departments; envisions organizational goals and inspires others to obtain them; translates business problems and requirements into information requirements and systems, acting as a liaison between information systems and the remainder of the organization. The role focuses on customer support, assigned applications, analysis, modification, programming, building and testing, while supporting other information systems core processes and performing additional duties as assigned.
Essential Job Duties

- Determine testing requirements for new or modified software and design implementations of test plans,
coordinating testing across systems.
- Evaluate existing systems against the strategic Informatics plan and recommend changes.
- Provide user support for centralized systems and determine system integration requirements to
ensure correct information flow.
- Communicate with end users to understand needs and perform actions including dictionary
evaluation, custom report writing, programming, application development, project management
and preparation of requirement documents; assist in development of training manuals and
coordinate training programs.
- Serve as the primary application support person, troubleshoot problems, ensure correct
information flow and coordinate projects; assist in meeting departmental, hospital,
compliance, HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Collaborate with other analysts to apply a consistent model throughout the information
system; coordinate resolution of operational issues with system support personnel.
- Monitor operational impact of systems, user acceptance and compliance with Informatics
objectives; revise and maintain documentation.
- Act as a resource for other IS staff on technical issues.
- Train IS personnel in system functionality and standards; serve as primary contact for
technical issues with secondary vendors and as day‑to‑day liaison between external
application consultants and hospital personnel.
- Assume responsibility for implementation of applications and coordinate activities with
personnel responsible for operations.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of education and 3 years of work experience; alternatively 2 years
education with 5 years work experience; 1 year education with 7 years work experience;
or 9 years of work experience with no college education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, OR 9+ years of
equivalent education/experience.
- Expert knowledge of application systems and analyst tools.
- Project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Three to five years’ experience in information systems with client‑server application
experience.
- Experience in a health care environment preferred; Meditech experience preferred.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Professional certifications desired (e.g., MCSE, MCSD).

Pay Range
$91,000 — $130,000 USD.
