Job Title: System Analyst

Location: Tampa, FL 33602

Duration: 6+ months

Hybrid Work- 3 days on site

The Systems Analyst develops software of moderate complexity based on specifications provided. Provides primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications. Participates on Application Development and Support team. May serve as Technical Lead on small projects. Works under moderate supervision and may oversee contract resources and/or junior staff.

Minimum of 6 years of direct experience (8yrs plus preferred). Nice to have Power BI - System support.

POSITION PROFICIENCIES

Technical: A strong understanding of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software and tools, including proficiency in HMI, PLC, and control systems.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret operational data, document high-level solutions, systems architecture, process and data flow analysis, and business and technology gap analysis.
Problem-solving Skills: Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions.
Communication Skills: Clearly communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Project Management Skills: Manage IT/OT projects, plan, organize, and oversee tasks.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with OT technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop software of moderate complexity based on specifications.
Implement software packages requiring moderate configuration and integration, interacting with vendor resources as needed.
Integrate applications with moderately complex interfaces based on specifications.
Provide 24x7 support for applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical.
Support SDLC phases by producing documentation and estimates, reviewed by senior staff.
Participate in design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC, producing required deliverables.
Contribute to application development and support teams, possibly serving as Technical Lead on small projects.
Maintain knowledge of relevant business areas and technical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Licenses/Certifications

Preferred: At least one professional certification in relevant disciplines.

Related Experience

Required: Two years in systems analysis, design, and development.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Experience with SCADA systems support and integration.
Strong knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies, with awareness of industry trends.
Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in programming languages and developer tools such as PL/SQL, SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio.
Ability to understand project plans, articulate roles, goals, timelines, and develop plans for small projects.
Experience creating and reviewing technical design specifications, supporting development tools and technologies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience with SCADA systems support and management.
Experience with meter data management, meter reading, SAP billing systems, and mobile field solutions.
Proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio.
Knowledge of electric/gas utility operations and controls.
Experience with relational databases and system integration processes.
Experience with reporting tools such as MS SSRS, Crystal Reports, Power BI.
