Job summary

NOVACARD is seeking an experienced System Analyst to assess the current system, design target solutions, and support migration efforts across teams. This fully remote role supports an international fintech initiative and requires strong integration and documentation skills.

You will model processes with BPMN/UML, define API contracts, and lead data-migration design while coordinating with development squads in a data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a System Analyst, preferably in integrations or product development.
• Deep understanding of REST API principles and data migration.
• Experience with API testing/description tools and SQL (PostgreSQL).

Responsibilities

• Analyze the existing system, identify business rules and constraints.
• Develop detailed technical requirements and specifications for migrations.
• Define and align integration contracts (REST APIs, JSON schemas, event contracts).
• Model and visualize processes with BPMN and UML (sequence, activity, component).
• Design data migration mappings, transformations, and strategies.
• Decompose tasks into User Stories and acceptance criteria.
• Perform risk analysis for target architecture and assist delivery teams.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams and maintain Confluence docs.
• Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced System Analyst to analyze the current system, design target solutions, and support development teams throughout all stages of the migration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze the existing system, identify business rules, dependencies, and constraints

• Develop detailed technical requirements and specifications for functionality migration

• Define and align integration contracts (REST APIs, JSON schemas, event contracts)

• Model and visualize business processes and data flows using BPMN and UML (Sequence, Activity, Component diagrams)

• Design data migration: mappings, transformations, and migration strategies

• Decompose technical initiatives into development tasks; prepare User Stories / Use Cases and define acceptance criteria

• Perform risk and bottleneck analysis for the target architecture

• Support development teams during delivery: answer questions, participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning

• Collaborate with adjacent teams and stakeholders to align technical decisions

• Maintain and update documentation in the knowledge base (Confluence)

• Participate in complex incident investigation and root cause analysis

Requirements

What We Expect:

• Experience in banking, fintech, or e-commerce products

• 5+ years of experience as a System Analyst, preferably in integrations or product development

• Deep understanding of REST API principles (HTTP methods, status codes, headers, idempotency, versioning)

• Hands-on experience with API testing and description tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman)

• SQL knowledge: ability to write complex queries with JOINs, window functions; understanding of PostgreSQL database structure

• Ability to create clear and structured diagrams using BPMN and UML

• Strong technical documentation skills (requirements, specifications, technical descriptions)

• Experience with event-driven architecture and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

• Understanding of microservices architecture and service interaction patterns

• Experience with legacy systems and data migration

Nice to Have:

• Experience participating in architecture reviews and technical decision-making

• Knowledge of CQRS, Event Sourcing patterns

• Experience with GraphQL

• English proficiency sufficient for reading technical documentation
