Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

System Administrator (Managed Services) | $60,000–$75,000 | Howell, New Jersey

Are you ready to work beyond the basics and step into a more impactful IT role that blends project delivery, cloud solutions, and enterprise-level support? A rapidly growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) in Somerset, NJ is seeking a System Administrator who is excited to work with modern infrastructure, help drive business-aligned IT strategies, and deliver complex solutions for a mix of small businesses and enterprise clients.

About the Role:

This is not your average helpdesk or break/fix role. As a System Administrator, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of infrastructure projects, support cloud migrations and cybersecurity initiatives, and work across enterprise environments with varied technical challenges. You’ll serve as an extension of your clients’ internal IT teams—responsible for delivering reliable, scalable solutions that support long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or contribute to cloud and infrastructure projects (e.g., Azure migrations, disaster recovery planning, security implementations)
• Support and maintain Microsoft Server environments and Active Directory
• Manage Microsoft Exchange (2007 and newer), including backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
• Secure and optimize email systems using SMTP, LDAP, and email security platforms
• Monitor performance, plan capacity, and assist with hardware architecture decisions
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to align IT solutions with strategic goals

Tech Stack & Environments You’ll Work In:

• Microsoft Azure and cloud-based infrastructures
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, Office 365
• Network technologies including MPLS, TCP/IP, SSL, IP addressing
• Cybersecurity tools and best practices
• Support both SMB and enterprise-level client environments

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of hands-on IT experience within an MSP
• Solid understanding of Microsoft-based infrastructure (Server, Exchange, AD)
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and hybrid deployments
• Networking knowledge
• Salary: $65,000–$75,000 based on experience
