Job summary

Quantum Research International, Inc. seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to design and implement architectures across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments supporting Army systems. The role requires DoD security posture, Windows/Linux administration, and infrastructure leadership in Huntsville, AL.

You will guide a team of engineers, ensure DoW/STIG alignment, and contribute to ATO readiness while maintaining high availability and secure operations in a demanding defense setting.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in systems and/or networking environments.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016-2025) and Linux in production.
• Experience with AD DS/DNS, MFA/ADFS/SSO/PKI, STIGs, backups, and recovery.

Mission:

Quantum Research Intl. is seeking a motivated mid System Administrator to work as a member of their team in our Huntsville, AL. The Systems Administrator is responsible for designing and implementing the overall system and platform architecture supporting the Army Critical Information and Exposure Reporting System (ACIERS). This role provides technical leadership in cloud computing, automation, interoperability, security, and high-availability architectures.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead design of systems across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments at a variety of Information Levels.
• Provide technical guidance to a team of network and system engineers and infrastructure technicians.
• Ensure architectural alignment with DoW cloud and Army security frameworks.
• Develop high-availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Serve as technical advisor and architecture authority.
• Provide 3rd level support for Windows, Linux, and AWS-related incidents
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server systems, both physical and virtual, across on-premises and AWS environments.
• Plan, design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems to ensure operational functionality, availability, and reliability
• Coordinate and lead discussions with customer stakeholders on subject matter areas, generate required contract reporting/courses of action, and produce briefing materials.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Windows Server (2016-2025) and Linux distributions in a production environment.
• Support compliance efforts in pursuit of Authority to Operate (ATO) on government networks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a systems and/or networking environment
• BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, information/network systems or equivalent techncial/engineering field
• Active Top Secret Clearance. Must be capable/eligible of obtaining a SCI designation.
• Hands on Active Directory Domain Services/DNS
• Multi-factor Authentication, ADFS, SSO , PKI
• working knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Experience with Virtualization -VMware vCenter/ESXi
• Proven experience managing multi-user computing environments
• Experience with backup and recovery procedures
• Demonstrated experience with system security administration
• Experince with data migrations between systems
• Strong hands-on experience administering Windows Server (2016-2025) and Linux distributions in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems with hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix
• Proficiency in user account management and access control
• Understanding system performance monitoring and tuning
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

• Significant experience integrating with enterprise system cloud services.
• Strong understanding of the IT industry in general, cloud computing, public and private cloud, virtualization, networking, middleware, database, web service architecture and related technologies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
