Base pay range

$55.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled System Administrator – Linux to support a large-scale Data Center Migration project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), strong troubleshooting skills, and experience deploying enterprise applications like Appian in Linux environments. The role demands expertise in performance tuning, documentation, and secure system operations in a fast-paced, infrastructure transition environment.

Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in Linux system administration

Client Location: On Shore, US

Mode of work: Remote; Needs to travel to client site when required by the client.

Work Time Zone: EST or CST

Duration: 4 months (Project Based)

Key Responsibilities:

•Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across physical and virtual servers involved in data center migration.

•Perform user and permission management, system patching, service configuration, and backup operations.

•Review and implement Appian installation procedures using official documentation on Linuxbased systems.

•Ensure system health, uptime, and performance through routine monitoring and proactive maintenance.

•Collaborate with infrastructure teams to plan and execute system cutovers, validations, and rollback strategies.

•Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues during and post-migration with minimal downtime.

•Document system configurations, procedures, and Appian deployment activities as part of project compliance.

Required Skills and Experience:

•Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in Linux system administration.

•Proven hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

•Ability to interpret and follow Appian platform installation guides and perform system-level deployments.

•Strong skills in shell scripting, log analysis, performance tuning, and security configuration.

•Experience supporting or participating in large-scale infrastructure or data center migration projects.

Preferred Certifications:

•Familiarity with Appian architecture and Linux-based software deployment best practices. • Knowledge of migration frameworks, downtime mitigation strategies, and DR procedures.

Additional Skills:

•Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

•Excellent verbal and written communication

•Self-driven, adaptable, and able to work independently or within a team
