Job summary

Independent Software seeks a System Administrator, Level 1, to provide hands-on support for IT systems used in mission-critical operations. The role covers implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance to keep systems secure, reliable, and performing.

You'll join a mission-driven team in a fast-paced environment, work with Linux/Windows, and support help desk and escalation processes. A TS/SCI with polygraph is required; this position is contingent on contract award.

Qualifications

• Five years of System Administrator experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• DoD 8570.01-M compliant with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II.
• Active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph for consideration.

What You Will Do

As a System Administrator, Level 1 at Independent Software, you will provide hands-on support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems supporting mission-critical operations. You will assist in managing system infrastructure and ensuring systems are operating efficiently, securely, and reliably.

You will support day-to-day IT operations, including monitoring systems, resolving technical issues, and assisting users with system access and functionality. This role is ideal for someone with foundational system administration experience looking to grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
• Monitor system performance and assist with problem identification and resolution
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for IT-related issues
• Assist users with accessing and utilizing IT systems and applications
• Support day-to-day operations of client/server, storage, network, and mobile devices

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Familiarity with IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage)
• Ability to support users and communicate technical issues clearly
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Education and Experience

• Five (5) years of System Administrator experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Five (5) additional years of System Administrator experience may be substituted for a degree

Certifications

• DoD 8570.01-M compliant with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II

Clearance Requirement

• Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
