Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Configure imaging of PCs and devices; manage user accounts and access controls; maintain documentation and records.

Key Responsibilities

Onsite & Client-Facing Support (2-3 Days/Week)


  • This role includes dedicated onsite support for one of our most valued clients three days per week, where you'll build strong relationships, provide responsive technical support, and represent our company professionally. The remaining two days are spent working alongside our Network Operations Center (NOC) team, supporting a diverse range of clients and technologies.

  • Provide hands-on, face-to-face technical support at customer sites, building trust and maintaining a professional presence.

  • Perform physical hardware installations, workspace setups, cabling/wiring tasks, and local network troubleshooting.

  • Conduct routine client site walk-throughs to audit technology, assess hardware health, and identify potential risks or upgrade needs.


Technical Support & Incident Management


  • Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 tickets; troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex Windows domain, networking, and software issues.

  • Monitor automated alerts and network operations to proactively prevent downtime and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Manage incoming service requests, taking calls when necessary, while maintaining accurate, real-time documentation and configuration records.

  • Work independently to drive open incidents to resolution with a focus on high first-contact resolution and positive client experience.


Deployment & System Administration


  • Image, configure, and deploy PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.

  • Support IT infrastructure projects, cloud migrations, and hardware/software implementations.

  • Manage user accounts, access controls, active directory objects, Group Policies (GPO), and file/folder permissions.

  • Administer productivity suites, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

  • Maintain endpoint security by managing antivirus, anti-malware, and patch management solutions.


Teamwork & Operational Excellence


  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to support critical after-hours incidents.

  • Adhere to and enforce documented company policies, security guidelines, and IT best practices.

  • Embody and promote the mission, vision, values, and core principles of Powernet.

  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and share knowledge with team members to elevate overall service quality.


Requirements

Education & Experience


  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on system administration or desktop support experience in a corporate or Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.


Technical Skills


  • Operating Systems: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows desktop/server environments within Active Directory domains.

  • Identity & Access Management: Solid experience with Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and file/folder permission structures.

  • Cloud & SaaS: Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint) and Google Workspace.

  • Networking: Understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs), structured cabling/wiring, and basic router/switch/firewall troubleshooting.

  • Security & Tools: Knowledge of endpoint protection software (AV/EDR), backup solutions, and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools.
