Job summary

Ideal Innovations, Inc. is seeking a desktop support administrator in Clarksburg, WV. You will handle end-user issues, install and configure hardware and software, and manage ticket-backed workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Required four years in IT or service desk, US citizenship, and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Strong knowledge of MECM, PowerShell, Office 365, and Active Directory is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop hardware, OS, and software support.
  • Diagnose and resolve end-user issues across software, hardware, and network.
  • Manage and prioritize tickets; respond via tickets, phone, chat, and walk-ins.
  • Push updates via MECM and PowerShell; maintain antivirus/antimalware protection.
  • Document troubleshooting steps in the ticketing system and ensure license compliance.

Typical Day

Desktop support administrator is highly dynamic and centers around solving technical issues for end‑users. A significant portion of the day is spent handling and prioritizing support requests, with the remaining time dedicated to projects, system maintenance, and documentation.

Tasks
  • Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware, operating systems, and software.
  • Diagnose and resolve end‑user issues (software errors, hardware failures, network problems).
  • Troubleshoot printing issues (drivers, queues, printer connectivity).
  • Reset or unlock user accounts and passwords.
  • Set up new desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
  • Ensure systems have updated antivirus/antimalware protection.
  • Apply patches and updates to operating systems and applications.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot standard business applications (Office, browsers, collaboration tools).
  • Push software updates via MECM, PowerShell or other management tools.
  • License tracking and compliance.
  • Respond to tickets, phone calls, chat requests, and walk‑ups.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher‑level support or specialized teams.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in the ticketing system.
Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information science, engineering, business, or a related field (desired not required).
  • Two (2) years of experience may substitute for an associate’s degree.
Experience
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience working in an IT or Service Desk environment.
Other Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Must meet DoDM 8140.03 compliance (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Server+).
  • Experience providing IT support services and troubleshooting across mixed environments, servers, mobile devices, A/V equipment, and Active Directory.
  • Extensive knowledge of OS delivery methods (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager or similar) and troubleshooting command‑specific applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently with accurate attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with all levels of management.
Certifications
  • Security clearance/IT access requirement – Secret/IT level II.
  • Investigation requirement – Tier 3 (T3) or higher.
  • Computing Environment (CE) certifications to be determined by government upon final job assignment.
  • Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or equivalent (desired).
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move desktop equipment.

Shift & Work Schedule
  • Shift work required.
  • Contract allows 8 hours for 5 days or 10 hours for 4 days, with weekend and night coverage as needed.
Clearance & Citizenship

US Interim Secret/US Secret clearance required. Current US citizenship required.
