Locally and remotely provision and deploy systems in an unattended manner using a combination of vendor provided tools, third party software and custom scripts. Automate repetitive systems administration tasks such as user account management and network configuration. Working as part of a team, candidate also serves as first line of support for faculty, staff, and students.

What You'll Do
  • Manage Windows servers. This includes managing users and security with Active Directory and managing the infrastructure that supports automated system provisioning for several hundred desktop systems.
  • Provide end-to-end Windows and Apple desktop support for the user community for routine requests such as software installs, managing system security settings, and replacing failed hardware.
  • Support "core" services provided by the systems group including printing, account management, quota management, performing security audits, and regularly updating workflow documentation.
  • Assist users both locally and remotely with regular Linux based requests such as quota increases, password resets, and automated OS installation.
  • Resolve user-related problems as appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
  • This role requires ongoing coordination with Tufts Technology Services where the incumbent must adhere to established data governance policies, technology standards, and system administration best practices as defined by TTS. This includes use of approved platforms and tools, participation in IT security protocols and periodic technical planning efforts for related systems, as well as alignment with enterprise-wide technology initiatives and strategies.
