Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and growth-oriented Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Fairfield County, CT. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to expand their technical expertise. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and evolving our enterprise infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across systems.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 cloud services including Teams and Multi-Factor Authentication.
  • Manage and maintain virtualization infrastructure using VMware vSphere.
  • Perform general Linux system administration in an enterprise setting.
  • Monitor and secure email systems, ensuring proper routing, spam filtering, malware protection, and data loss prevention (DLP).
  • Configure and manage network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewalls to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Maintain physical server hardware, including installation, configuration, and cabling for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role supporting enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365).
  • Experience with VMware vSphere and general Linux administration.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation and task scheduling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
