Job summary

ARES Corporation is hiring for a Systems Admin and Software Developer to join the Kennedy Space Center team in Merritt Island, FL. The role covers onsite Cradle administration and full-stack web development, spanning database, API, and front-end layers.

You will design, implement, and maintain web applications and SharePoint Online sites, while training users and staying current with Cradle updates. A BS in CS/CE or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science or engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Experience delivering web apps end-to-end across database, API, and front-end layers.
• Strong design and analysis skills with ability to translate requirements into detailed technical designs.
• Experience with Git-based workflows: feature branching, pull requests, and code review.
• Ability to write and maintain automated unit tests.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications from SQL Server through EF and .NET/C# APIs to Angular + PrimeNG front ends.
• Design and implement relational data models in MSSQL using EF for schema evolution.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs with authentication/authorization and input validation.
• Develop responsive, accessible UI components with Angular/PrimeNG and ensure usable UX.
• Refine requirements into actionable tasks tracked in GitHub Issues/Projects.
• Debug and resolve defects across UI, API, EF, and database layers.
• Manage source control and CI/CD using GitHub; perform code reviews and releases.
• Write and maintain unit tests; perform database administration tasks as needed.
• Create and maintain user/technical/release documentation; provide training and demos.

KLXS III Artemis - Requirements System Admin and Software Developer

Join our team at the Kennedy Space Center supporting NASA's Artemis Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program via the KLXS III contract. Under this contract, ARES and its partners provide engineering and technical services, program and business management support services and administrative support services to the EGS Program.

Position Summary: Onsite administration of the Cradle system and development and maintenance of various web applications and/or SharePoint Online sites.

Job Description

Cradle Admin Functional Responsibilities (Higher priority task)

• Manage the Cradle requirements management system for the program. Duties can include creating new objects and populating fields such as requirement text and rationale, verification methods, Detailed Verification Objectives (DVO), Stakeholder Expectations, Detailed Validation Objectives (DVaO), schedule items (for event planning), and change notices.
• Audit the work performed in Cradle and identify gaps/issues; track to resolve discrepancies and coordinate with requirements analysts, systems engineers and management.
• Provide Technical Baseline Reports from the system monthly and as needed for reviews.
• Conduct one-on-one and group training and refresher training for users on how to create new objects, populate object fields, modify views, and output files to meet their needs during design, readiness reviews, system checks, etc.
• Stays current with Cradle updates and issues by participating in the Cradle Community of Practice meeting once a month.

Web App Developer Functional Responsibilities (Majority of time task)

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications end-to-end, from the Microsoft SQL Server database, through Entity Framework and .NET/C# APIs, to Angular + PrimeNG front ends.
• Design and implement relational data models in MSSQL, using Entity Framework (migrations, relationships, LINQ) to manage schema evolution and data access.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs in .NET/C#, including authentication/authorization, input validation, and error handling.
• Develop responsive, accessible UI components with Angular and PrimeNG, including data grids, reactive forms, and interactive views, with attention to usability and consistent UX.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into working software; refine and break down requirements into actionable development tasks tracked in GitHub Issues and Projects.
• Debug and resolve defects across the full stack (UI, API, EF, and database layers), including data-integrity and performance issues.
• Manage source control and configuration using GitHub, including feature branching, pull requests, code review, and tagged releases.
• Write and maintain unit tests using built-in .NET and Angular testing frameworks.
• Perform database administration tasks, including schema management, stored procedures, query tuning, and data troubleshooting.
• Support software classification activities and maintain related engineering documentation.
• Create and maintain user, technical, and release documentation for delivered software.
• Conduct user training and deliver stakeholder demonstrations during design, readiness reviews, and system checks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, systems engineers, and management to validate requirements and support project milestones.

Required skills and competencies include:

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with C# and the .NET framework/.NET Core for back-end and API development.
• Entity Framework: data modeling, migrations, relationships, and LINQ queries.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including relational schema design, stored procedures, query optimization, and problem resolution.
• Proficiency with Angular, including components, services, routing, and reactive forms.
• Experience building UIs with the PrimeNG component library.
• Familiarity with SharePoint On-Prem & Online
• Familiarity with PowerApps: Power Automate, Power FX Code, Power BI Report Building

Education/Experience

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred, or a BS in a different field with appropriate work experience.
