Sylvan Learning Center in Coralville is seeking a dedicated Sylvan Teacher to deliver math and reading instruction using Sylvan program materials, creating balanced and engaging learning experiences for students. The teacher evaluates progress on each assignment and communicates outcomes with Center staff to personalize learning.
You will prepare sessions, greet students, manage time, and motivate learners with Sylvan tokens.
Our Sylvan of Coralville operational hours during the School Year are as follows:
Monday-Thursdays: 3:30-7:30
Saturdays: 9:30-11:30
Sundays: 12:30-4:30
We ask you to consider your schedule before applying- preference will be given to candidates who are available specifically for Monday and Saturday shifts. We are also looking for staff who feel comfortable tutoring math through Algebra II and Geometry, as well as individuals who are willing to also train in Admin responsibilities (answering the phone, taking attendance, managing the instructional floor, etc) and willing to work in either capacity during a shift.

The Sylvan Teacher is responsible for creating a positive personal learning experience for students by teaching students using Sylvan program materials. Using the program materials, the teacher creates balanced and robust learning experiences for students. The Sylvan Teacher evaluates student progress on each assignment, communicates this progress, and works with Center staff to ensure learning is personal for each student.
