Job summary

Police Athletic League Inc. seeks a Borough Coordinator to manage the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) across the assigned borough.

You will supervise staff, recruit participants, and ensure smooth operation, compliance, and quality experiences for youth, families, and employers. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Youth Employment, you will build worksite partnerships, coordinate recruitment, and oversee data and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• One to two years of experience in youth employment, workforce development, education, human services, program coordination, or a related field; SYEP experience strongly preferred.
• Experience coordinating programs, managing program operations, or working with youth-serving programs preferred.
• Experience supervising, training, or providing guidance to staff preferred.
• Strong organizational, leadership, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate SYEP staff assigned to the contract.
• Coordinate all aspects of participant recruitment, lottery selection, enrollment, orientation, placement, and onboarding.
• Oversee day-to-day implementation of the SYEP contract, ensuring schedules, staffing, and services meet requirements.
• Monitor program compliance, deadlines, policies, procedures, and contract deliverables; ensure documentation is audit-ready.
• Maintain participant records and generate reports on participation, attendance, and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers and worksites; expand partner network.
• Recruit and engage participants for year-round workforce development opportunities.
• Coordinate staff trainings, orientations, and meetings; facilitate program-related activities.
• Oversee attendance tracking, timesheets, payroll documentation; address issues.
• Document and address incidents; escalate significant concerns to leadership.
• Arrange facilities for activities and events; manage logistics.
• Identify opportunities for program improvements and collaborate with leadership.
• Travel throughout the borough to support SYEP operations.
