The Mayo Clinic Health System Student Nurse Internship in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is a paid, 11-week summer program for nursing students. Interns gain hands-on clinical experience, develop skills, and explore nursing practice through rotations in hospital and clinic settings. Most experiences occur on the La Crosse campus, with potential travel to Onalaska or Sparta.

The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care with the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) under Sec. N6.03(3), Wisconsin Administration code. The designated tasks are those which have been taught in the academic programs and/or orientation, and where the individual has demonstrated competence to a designated RN.
