The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Public Safety Officer I - Lateral to join our Public Safety team. The position offers a salary range of $158,141 to $197,027 per year and progression to Officer II after training.

Applicants must meet California POST requirements, provide DMV driving records, and pass a physical agility exam as part of the application. Under supervision, incumbents will perform a broad range of public safety tasks including law enforcement, fire suppression, rescue and EMS,

Formación

• Associate's degree or 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university; AND
• Two years of experience in police work; AND
• Successful completion of a POST approved police academy.

Responsabilidades

• Complete field training and fire academy to prepare for position.
• Patrols assigned area and enforces laws to maintain order.
• Responds to calls for service and may make arrests.
• Investigates crimes and collects evidence for investigations.
• Provides testimony in court related to assigned duties.
• Plays a role in raids and public safety education.
