Job summary

City of Tuscaloosa seeks an Auxiliary School Resource Officer to support Tuscaloosa City Schools with security and policing functions. The role requires sworn law enforcement status and experience, with authority limited to times when in uniform and under the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Prior APOSTC certification and sworn law enforcement experience required.
• Retired law enforcement personnel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform auxiliary school resource officer duties and school security work within Tuscaloosa City Schools.
• Work the same days/hours as teachers or as directed by the Chief of Police or designee.
• Attend required training, including during non-session days, as directed by leadership.
