Job summary

Mobile Civil Service is seeking a School Resource Officer to provide sworn law enforcement services within the school system. You will be responsible for maintaining safety on campus, responding to incidents, and enforcing applicable laws and district rules to protect students and staff.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of sworn law enforcement experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience), and Alabama POST certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard senior high school, or GED.
• Two years of sworn law enforcement experience, or an education/experience combination equivalent to these requirements.
• Must possess certification as a sworn law enforcement officer by the Alabama POST.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day sworn law enforcement duties for the school system within the Police Department.
• Maintain safety and security on school campuses and at school events.
• Enforce laws, policies, and procedures; engage with students, staff, and the community to promote a safe environment.

• Hourly Pay: $20.34 - $21.88
• Yearly Salary: $42,312 - $45,516

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, and a minimum of two years of sworn law enforcement experience; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Physical Requirements

Ability to meet established state standards of physical endurance, agility, health, and vision for law enforcement personnel.

Special Requirement

Must possess certification as a sworn law enforcement officer by the State of Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission. Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
