The City of Huntsville's Police Department is seeking a qualified candidate for a Part-Time School Resource Officer to work with Huntsville City Schools. The officer will serve as a liaison, develop and coordinate safety training, and conduct a variety of investigations as needed.

Applicants must be an APOSTC certified officer who retired in good standing, hold a valid driver’s license, and complete pre-employment steps including a polygraph.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from a regionally accredited program or equivalent.
• Must be an APOSTC certified law enforcement officer who retired in good standing with no pending disciplinary action.
• Must complete pre-employment steps including a supplemental application and a polygraph examination; must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Serve as liaison between the Huntsville Police Department and Huntsville City Schools.
• Plan, develop, and coordinate public safety training programs for the City of Huntsville schools.
• Perform investigations and duties related to juvenile, vice, narcotics, crimes against persons/property as assigned.
