Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Field Superintendent – Civil (Switchyard) to manage and execute civil construction activities for a large gas-fired power generation project in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or Construction Management and possess 5-8 years of relevant experience in civil construction. Responsibilities include overseeing subcontractors, preparing drawings, and ensuring safety compliance. The role involves working directly at the project site and may require relocation due to the nature of the work.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in civil construction on large projects.
• Demonstrable commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
• Previous supervisory experience within civil discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute subcontractors and direct-hire civil construction activities.
• Prepare construction drawings and sketches.
• Develop planning construction methods and procedures.

Skills

Technical knowledge of earthworks, roads and drainage

Experience in self-perform concrete activities

Knowledge of relevant codes such as ACI, CRSI, ASTM

Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities

Understanding of production management including scheduling

Sound communication skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Construction Management
