Job summary

ADUSA Transportation is seeking a switcher to safely move trailers for loading, unloading, and salvage operations within a distribution yard. You will follow YMS instructions and ensure accurate temperature logs while maintaining safety and productivity.

The role requires CDL where applicable, a clean driving record, and the ability to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced distribution setting with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• DL may be required where applicable.
• Must be at least 21 years of age where required.
• Clean driving record with 3 years or 300,000 miles experience.
• Able to meet safety and productivity standards.
• Willing to work the required schedule and shifts.
• Familiarity with distribution environments.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers into dock doors for loading and unloading of product.
• Move trailers for unloading salvage product from stores.
• Follow YMS directions to other locations when applicable.
• Maintain compliance with safety, accuracy and productivity standards.
• Maintain temperature logs for reefers on the yard.
• Complete yard audits using YMS with handheld devices.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

As a switcher, it will be your responsibility to safely move trailers as needed for loading or unloading of grocery, perishables, and salvage in a timely and efficient manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Move trailers into appropriate dock doors for loading and unloading of product for various departments
• Move trailers into appropriate dock door for unloading of salvage product returning from retail stores
• Move trailers as directed by YMS to any and all other locations (where applicable)
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in maintaining accurate temperature log for all running reefers on the yard
• Maintain running list of all common carrier trailers moved into doors during shifts
• Complete yard audits within YMS using hand held computers (where applicable)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Some facilities may require a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Some facilities may require you to be at least 21 years of age
• Some facilities may require a clean driving record with 3 years (or 300,000 miles) experience.
• Must be able to meet expected work standards as established accurately and safely.
• Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
• Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to pass D.O.T. physical and drug screen at facilities where a CDL is a requirement.
• Work in a -5 degree to 90+ degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for extended periods of time.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent driving skills
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate and complete required record keeping functions
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers
