Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities seeks a Switchboard Operator 3 at Ludeman Developmental Center, Park Forest, IL, to coordinate telephone services and serve as a working supervisor.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate operations of the Center’s Switchboard.
  • Serve as a working supervisor.
  • Prepare outgoing mail.
  • Monitor and arrange repairs for paging systems.
  • Implement procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Update the Switchboard Manual.
  • Produce traffic reports and oversee staff directories.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience as a telephone operator.
Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to use office equipment, including computers.
  • Availability for after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Pass background check and drug screening.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, with paid lunch and overtime.
