Job summary

Viant Medical seeks a skilled machinist to set up, operate, and maintain SWISS CNC equipment to produce precision parts in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Shifts include 2nd shift, 10 hours Mon–Thu, and weekend 12 hours Fri–Sun, with a 5K sign-on bonus and an 18% weekend differential. Benefits include medical, dental & vision, 401K with match, generous PTO, 10 paid holidays, attendance bonus, and on‑demand pay. Growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to use typical inspection equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of most conventional equipment.
• Able to read machine code and programs.
• Able to read most blueprints and operation sheets.
• Good understanding of shop math.
• Able to use trigonometry on blueprints and operation sheets.
• Good understanding of geometric tolerances.
• Maintain organization to ISO operation procedures.
• Complete all job-specific required training.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate SWISS CNC machines with fixturing and standard set-ups per customer requirements.
• Inspect work with minimal assistance.
• Train lesser grade individuals on machining and inspection methods.
• Troubleshoot and adjust set-ups; document changes per procedure.
• Maintain dimensional integrity and ensure proper set-up for product.
• Update job travelers with routings and runtimes.
• Comply with safety and quality procedures.

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $21.00–$45.00 hourly wage. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.

Position Scope / Summary

The primary purpose of this job is to set up, operate, and maintain SWISS CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Set‑up and operate most jobs on SWISS CNC machines with both fixturing and/or standard set‑ups with minimal supervision in accordance to set‑up sheet, blueprints and operation sheets per customer requirements
• Inspection of work with minimal assistance from senior machinist or supervisor
• Train lesser grade individuals on all aspects of conventional machining and proper inspection methods
• Trouble‑shoot and adjust set‑ups as necessary, document changes per procedure
• Make adjustments to maintain dimensional integrity
• Insure machine and inspection set‑up are adequate for the product
• Document set‑ups on set‑up sheets
• Verify the revision level for the current operation (operation sheets, blueprints)
• Verify Pc. Count and all applicable documentation for completion of previous operations
• Complete all applicable documentation for the current operation
• Update Job travelers with changes to routings and runtimes
• Participate on various teams to achieve performance metrics
• Maintain machine maintenance and log
• Comply with work rules including those pertaining to safety, health, quality system, and Viant Quality Management System
