  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement cycle time reductions and tool-life improvements through the analysis of speeds, feeds, and tool-path efficiency.
  • Quality & Precision: Maintain tolerances as tight as ±.0005”. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and in-process monitoring using CMMs, vision systems, and manual metrology tools.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and programming issues, including vibration dampening, thermal compensation, and material-specific challenges (e.g., Titanium, Inconel, 17-4 PH).
  • Departmental Mentorship: Act as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance to junior machinists and operators to ensure adherence to quality standards and production schedules.
Requirements
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in CNC Swiss machining, with at least 5 years dedicated to independent programming and setup.
  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of G-code/M-code and fluency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Software Expertise: Advanced proficiency in CAM programming and CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
  • Industry Knowledge: Prior experience operating within highly regulated environments, such as AS9100 (Aerospace) or ISO 13485 (Medical).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in Precision Machining or a Journeyman Certification is strongly preferred.
