POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking qualified Swiss CNC Machine Operators to set up and operate Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will produce precision-machined parts, read and edit CNC programs, interpret blueprints, inspect finished parts, troubleshoot routine machine issues, and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
SCHEDULE
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM–6:30 AM
- Shift premium available, as applicable.
All work must be performed onsite at the Valley City, Ohio facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes.
- Monitor equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Read, understand, format, and edit CNC programs as required.
- Inspect first pieces and obtain approval before beginning production.
- Perform in-process inspections according to established procedures, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, thread gages, and depth micrometers.
- Make general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and sequence of operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine and selected non-routine production or equipment issues.
- Complete secondary operations as required.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
- Exercise proper care when using tools, equipment, and materials.
- Identify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions to supervision.
- Maintain accurate and timely production records and reports.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and internal teams.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
- Complete assignments efficiently while meeting quality and customer expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS / IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–2 years of related CNC machining experience and/or equivalent education and training.
- Previous experience operating Swiss CNC machines is required.
- Experience setting up and operating Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, including program formatting and editing.
- Ability to use precision inspection gages and measuring equipment.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and process efficiency.
- Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.

- Moderate physical activity while operating and overseeing CNC machinery.
- Occasional strenuous activity, including lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Frequent bending and occasional squatting and kneeling to repair or observe machines.
- Occasional lifting of raw materials, pans of parts, and tooling.
