Job summary

Hord Farms in Ohio is seeking a Swine Service Specialist to provide leadership and oversight of contract nursery and finishing barns. You will ensure animal care aligns with HORD protocols to optimize health and efficiencies, identify animals ready for market, and administer preventative or corrective care as needed.

The ideal candidate will travel to farms across north-central Ohio, have a passion for pigs and people, and demonstrate dependability with a proven drive for excellence.

Hord Farms is a diversified farming operation, headquartered in north-central Ohio, but nationally known for our world class pig production. We are currently looking for self-motivated, reliable, detail-oriented individuals, with at least 1 year of market hog experience, to add to our swine grow to finish team.

A Day in the Life:

This key position is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and general oversight of contract nursery and finishing barns. Our Swine Service Specialists ensure that these locations are being maintained in alignment with HORD protocols to optimize animal care, health, and efficiencies; identify and mark animals ready for market; and administer preventative or corrective care as needed.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable traveling to various farms across north-central Ohio, have the desire to work with pigs and people, a willingness to learn and to lead, a high level of dependability as evidenced with a solid work history, and a proven record of drive for excellence.

Requirements for Consideration:

• Candidates must not currently own or have routine contact with non-Hord pigs
• Display a high level of respect to team members, growing partners, and animals
• Excellent communication, time management, organizational, and record-keeping skills
• An impeccable record of reliability/dependability
• Willingness to learn and carry out complex instructions effectively
• The ability to lift up to 55lbs.
