Job summary

You will lead farm managers, implement management systems, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Weekend/holiday coverage may be required, with on-call support for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field is required.
• Experience leading staff or processes and coaching others.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Prod Spec 1 program completion or 2 years swine experience preferred.
• Average 45 hour week with 9 hour days; may include weekends/holidays.
• On-call for emergencies and environmental events.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of all assigned swine units and oversee financial and operational performance.
• Ensure biosecurity policies are followed and EMS/environmental laws are enforced.
• Monitor animal welfare, water and feed quality, and humane treatment.
• Evaluate farms' performance and implement improvement plans.
• Develop farm managers and employees through training and procedural compliance.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in management systems implementation.
