Carthage System - Professional Swine Management LLC is seeking a Sow Farm Manager to oversee daily welfare of swine, feed and water management, and lead a farm team. The role emphasizes biosecurity and safety, with responsibilities spanning record keeping, project oversight, and continuous process improvements.

The candidate will coordinate employees into effective teams, drive breeding and farrowing targets, and ensure high-quality animal production in a productive environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years related swine production experience.
• Minimum of 1 year people management experience.
• B.S. in Animal Science or equivalent preferred.
• Combination of above acceptable.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Ensures animals are being cared for daily, including water, feed and management.
• Builds, leads, and trains successful team members to carry out assigned tasks.
• Complies with company SOPs.
• Assists in controlling costs associated with feed, supplies, and labor.
• Sets long and short term targets for breeding and farrowing success.
• Maintains accurate number integrity for record keeping.
• Coordinates and oversees completion of special projects.
• Makes recommendations for operational improvements.
• Conducts safety training meetings and ensures employees are working safely.
• Performs general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Maintains open line of communication with neighbors who share land boundaries.
• Complies with biosecurity practices to safeguard life and health of animals.
• Ensures welfare of animals.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.
