Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking animal caretakers to care for pigs at our swine production facilities. On-the-job training is provided; prior experience is not required. You will monitor feed, water, barn conditions, and perform tasks related to breeding and piglet processing on the sow farm as needed.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, maintaining inventory, identifying disease signs, and supporting PQA certification efforts. Strong work ethic and ability to work weekends are essential.

Qualifications

  • No education required.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Flexible and able to work weekends (Sat/Sun).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor feed quality and water supply.
  • Monitor barn environment and ventilation systems.
  • Assist with breeding sows and processing piglets on sow farm.
  • Load and unload pigs as scheduled.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and animal welfare standards.
  • Keep accurate livestock inventory records.
  • Identify visual signs of diseases and assist with vaccination as needed.
  • Sort hogs with disqualifying defects.
  • Aim to achieve PQA certification with the National Pork Board.
