Job summary

City of Westminster is seeking a Sport Coach – Swim Team (Westy Waves) to lead the non-competitive swim team, with evening practices in Fall/Winter and morning practices in Summer. The role emphasizes safety, instructional expertise, and positive interaction with a diverse participant base from five to seventeen years old.

The position is hourly and non-benefited. Applicants should have prior swim team coaching or extensive swim lesson background, possess First Aid, CPR, and AED certification

Qualifications

• Experience coaching a swim team or extensive swimming lesson instruction background
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification within 30 days of hire
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of swimming instruction for all four competitive strokes and regulations for approved strokes, turns, and starts
• Demonstrate ability to work with children aged 5–17
• Demonstrate CPR and rescue breathing skills within certification standards
• Work courteously with the public and support the City of Westminster SPIRIT values
