Job summary

YMCA of Dane County is seeking a Swim Team Coach to develop technical and social swimming skills in a safe, enjoyable environment under the Aquatic Director. You will plan practices, manage meets, and foster positive relationships with swimmers, parents, and volunteers.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, maintaining attendance records, supporting YMCA policies, and promoting the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through coaching and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to professionally communicate with members, staff and supervisors.
• Must maintain current certifications (lifeguard/CPR-First Aid, coaching certifications) within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Plan curriculum and manage practice sessions for the swim team.
• Prepare swim meet information, entries, and registrations; attend meets and manage warm-ups and discipline.
• Provide safety supervision and ensure adherence to YMCA policies; respond to emergencies when needed.
