Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is seeking part-time Swim Team Coaches at the Central Branch in Fort Wayne, IN to develop swimmers of various ages and abilities during the season. This role focuses on safety, skill development, and teamwork, with a commitment to the YMCA mission.

Responsibilities include leading practices and meets, building positive relationships with participants and families, and ensuring a supportive environment while promoting the YMCA’s values and programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and have 2 years of high school or equivalent.
• Experience with competitive swimming as a coach and/or swimmer.
• Certification from the YMCA or willingness to become certified.
• Excellent communication, supervisory and organizational skills.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race or background.

The Central Branch YMCA are looking for a part-time Swim Team Coaches who will be responsible for developing the abilities of swimmers of various ages and diverse skill levels during the swim season.

• Lead: Plan, direct, and attend all swim team practices, meets, and functions.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• 2 years of high school or the equivalent.
• Must have previous experience with competitive swimming as a coach and/or swimmer.
• Certification from the YMCA or other accredited association preferred (i.e., LGI and YMCA PYAL, etc.) or the willingness to become certified.
• Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Excellent human relations skills and enthusiasm.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary:Part-time, $12.50-$13.00 hourly
