The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor at the Renaissance Pointe location in Fort Wayne, IN. You will help deliver safe, engaging swim lessons following YUSA guidelines and support members and families through the aquatics program.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old with strong communication skills and a commitment to YMCA values. Red Cross or YMCA WSI is preferred, and transportation to the branch is required.

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years old.
Current American Red Cross or YMCA Water Safety Instructor is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to relate to diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

The Renaissance Pointe YMCA is looking for an energetic, outgoing team player to fill the position of swim instructor to help create a safe and positive atmosphere in and around the pool and conduct swimming instruction in accordance with YUSA guidelines.

Connect: Build effective, authentic relationships with members, swim participants, and parents.
Nurture: Ensure a safe and positive environment for the swim lesson participants to succeed in program goals.
Inspire: Encourage the involvement of all swim participants.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

At least 16 years old.
Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards
Current American Red Cross or YMCA Water Safety Instructor is preferred.
Certification from the YMCA or other accredited association is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent human relations skills.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary:Part-time $12.44 - $14.50 hourly
