Job summary

Indiana County YMCA in Indiana, PA is seeking a Swim Team Assistant Coach to support a positive, safe, and competitive swim team environment. This role assists the Head Swim Coach in developing swimmers' technique, endurance, confidence, and sportsmanship while promoting the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Evening and weekend availability is required, with practices from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM on weekdays and attendance at meets as needed.

Qualifications

• Competitive swimming experience required.
• Strong knowledge of swim strokes, starts, and race strategies.
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop swimmers in a positive environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting swim team practices and workouts.
• Teach and reinforce proper stroke technique, starts, turns, and competitive swimming skills.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to swimmers of varying ages and abilities.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among participants.
• Attend meets and assist with supervision, meet operations, and safety."],
