Job summary

YMCA of South Palm Beach County seeks a dedicated Swim Instructor to lead swimming lessons, prepare plans, and track progress per YMCA guidelines. You will foster a safe, positive learning environment and maintain records of attendance and progress, while engaging members and families.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons, supervising class aides, attending trainings, and ensuring equipment is organized and labeled for safety and smooth program operation.

Qualifications

• Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED required.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim instruction skills.
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the U.S.

• Develops positive relationships with members and participants and provides motivation.
• Maintains attendance, progress reports and other required records.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; follows safety procedures and reports incidents.
• Organizes and puts away class equipment; reports damaged equipment; trains and supervises class aides.

## Description**Position Summary****A YMCA Swim Instructor provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming lessons.****Essential Functions*** Instructs swimming lessons as assigned in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.* Develops positive relationships with members and participants and provides motivational support and guidance.* Encourages member and parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.* Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers members and participants to other programs.* Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).* Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.* Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.* Organizes and puts away needed class equipment.
