Base pay range

$19.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Position Overview

The Swim Lesson Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling, and evaluating instructor staff, interfacing with program participants, and directing instructors during swimming lessons. They perform professional duties under the indirect supervision of the area or pool manager. The role involves creating staff schedules, ordering supplies, assisting with hiring, staff development, and conducting in-service training. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively with staff and patrons.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee swim lesson programs, ensuring instructors follow protocols and safety guidelines; address participant and parent concerns to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Conduct evaluations, in-service trainings, and staff meetings; foster a positive team environment.
• Schedule instructors considering participant and instructor availability; verify timesheets; ensure smooth program operation.
• Maintain records of participant progress and incidents during lessons.
• Manage class transfers, verify enrollment accuracy, and notify management of discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Experience: Must be 18+ years old with at least two years' experience in swim lessons.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses & Certifications: ASCA Level 1 or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Language: Proficiency in verbal and written English; Spanish and ASL skills preferred.

Environmental and Physical Demands

Primarily outdoor work with exposure to heat and weather variations.

Pay and Hours

Earn up to $22.50/hr depending on experience, with incentives. Requires 12 hours/week, including day/evening shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
