Job Overview

The Swim Lesson Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling, and evaluating instructor staff, interfacing with program participants, and directing instructors throughout swimming lessons. They work under the indirect supervision of the area or pool manager of CELTS swim lessons. The primary point of contact for clients on a daily basis, the supervisor creates staff schedules, orders supplies, assists with hiring and staff development, and manages in-service training. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively with staff and patrons.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee swim lesson programs, ensuring instructors follow protocols and safety guidelines; address participant and parent/guardian concerns to ensure high customer satisfaction.
2. Conduct evaluations, in-service trainings, and staff meetings; foster a positive team environment.
3. Schedule instructors considering participant and instructor availability, verify timesheets, and step in as needed for smooth program operation.
4. Maintain accurate records of participant progress and incidents during lessons.
5. Manage class transfers, verify enrollment accuracy, and notify management of discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Experience: Must be 18+ years old with at least two years' experience in swim lessons.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses & Certifications: American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 1 or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Language: Proficiency in verbal and written English required; Spanish and American Sign Language proficiency preferred.
• Environmental/Physical Demands: Work primarily outdoors, exposed to heat and weather variations.

Pay and Hours

Earn up to $22.50/hour depending on experience, with additional incentives. Requires 12 hours/week, including day/evening shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
