Job summary

The Swim Lesson Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of our swim lessons, guiding instructors, organizing schedules, and ensuring every guest enjoys a safe, positive experience from first-time swimmers to those refining skills.

You will mentor staff, review rosters, communicate goals to families, and partner with the Programs Director. You’ll receive specialized facility training to lead and contribute to the center’s ongoing success.

Qualifications

• Previous swim instructor experience.
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification or ability to obtain/maintain.

Responsibilities

• Review and confirm the daily swim lesson roster.
• Effectively communicate program and curriculum goals to families.
• Serve as a point of contact for swim instructors during lessons.
• Instruct weekly swim lessons in the water and provide in-water support for other lessons as needed.
• Apply feedback from the Aquatics Facility Manager to improve lesson quality.
• Collaborate with instructors mid-lesson and post-lesson with feedback to enhance their coaching.
• Approve swim lesson graduation for students.
• Run and teach Parent and Me lessons as needed.
• Oversee and run the Aqua Aerobics programs.
• Professionally document detailed reports, comments, and other interactions with staff and customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Swim Lesson Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our swim lessons. It includes overseeing the logistics and providing mentorship to the swim instructors to help them excel. Your mission is to create an atmosphere where every guest has a positive and enjoyable experience. Whether they are first‑time swimmers or those looking to refine their skills, you'll guide them through the aquatic journey. Working closely with the Programs Director, you will receive specialized training tailored to the unique features of the facility, helping you lead and contribute to the center’s success.

Compensation

$19.00‑$22.00/hr
Seasonal, hourly

Duties / Responsibilities

Requirements

Minimum

• Previous swim instructor experience
• Must possess, or be able to obtain or maintain a StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification
• Candidate must be outgoing, responsible, and reliable
• Teach swim lessons at least once a week
• Consistently available Sundays 9:30 am‑1:30 pm, Saturdays 8:30 am‑12:30 pm, plus Mondays and Thursdays 3:30 pm‑7:30 pm

Preferred

• 6+ months of swim instructor experience
• Knowledge of Jackrabbit Technologies and/or OneTeam360
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to teach swim lessons in the water for up to 8 hours
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job and to move or lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be physically able to rescue someone drowning or injured in the water
• May be exposed to prolonged periods of being outdoors
