Ymca of Greater Springfield, Inc is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to teach swimming techniques and water safety to individuals or groups of all ages in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.

You will plan and conduct lessons, enforce pool rules for safety, provide demonstrations and feedback, and maintain attendance records. CPR/First Aid certifications are required, and strong communication and patience are essential for helping students learn to swim.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching swimming lessons or working with children preferred.
• Strong swimming skills and knowledge of swim strokes and water safety.
• Current certifications in CPR and First Aid.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching swimming techniques and water safety to individuals or groups of all ages and skill levels in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Plan and conduct swim lessons for students of varying ages and abilities.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and supervising swim areas during lessons.
• Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and feedback to help students improve their swimming skills.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about student progress and upcoming classes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience teaching swimming lessons or working with children in a recreational or educational setting preferred.
• Strong swimming skills and knowledge of swim strokes and water safety.
• Current certifications in CPR, First Aid
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in helping others learn to swim.
