Job summary

Bangor YMCA in Bangor, ME is seeking a Swim Lesson Instructor to engage with members and families, build strong relationships, and deliver safe, well-planned swimming lessons in line with YMCA guidelines.

You will lead, supervise, and motivate students while fostering a welcoming community atmosphere and providing high-quality instruction.

Qualifications

• Build authentic relationships with students and parents.
• Create a safe environment where everyone is welcomed and respected.
• Instruct swimming lessons per YMCA guidelines with prepared lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
• Maintain prepared lesson plans for classes.
• Provide leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.

Job description

Our Swim Lesson Instructors support the organization's mission by intentionally welcoming members into the Y Community, connecting them with others, and maintaining prepared lesson plans in accordance with YMCA guidelines, to keep our community members safe in and around water!

We're looking for a new team member who can:

• Build effective, authentic relationships with students and parents, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Create a safe environment, in which all individuals feel welcomed and respected.
• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.

(All while providing direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes, of course!)
