Job summary

Assistant Swim Instructor at Hendricks Regional Health Center YMCA – Avon, IN 46123 is a part-time role within the Aquatics program. You will deliver safe, engaging swim lessons under the direction of the Program Coordinator and Aquatics Director, following YMCA safety guidelines.

To qualify, applicants aged 14–15 may apply; you must be able to swim per test requirements and obtain First Aid certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Ages 14–15 may apply.
• Ability to swim as verified by a swim test.
• Maintain First Aid certification or obtain within 60 days.
• Within 90 days, obtain Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety Assistant certification if turning 16.
• Possess YMCA certifications such as Basic Swim Lesson Instructor or Water Fitness Instructor.
• Complete New Employee Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention and Safety and Risk Management certifications within 60–90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and challenging swim lesson classes under supervision following YMCA guidelines.
• Assist in delivering instructional swim programs as directed by the Program Coordinator and Aquatics Director.
